Capt. Rouse with beautiful Miss Abby. Missing her today. Can’t believe it’s been since July that we lost her. She could melt the coldest of hearts with those big brown eyes.
Throwback of a fun day on the lake with Abby.

BLACK AND WHITE GALLERY
In the process of organizing some files, I ran across these. Jamie was playing around with a new lens he had gotten for his camera right before Thomas was born. Thought I would post them on the blog.
Water flow: medium
Visibility: 52 inches
Water temperature at mid-day: 52 Degrees F
Water condition: Clear
Best time of day to fish: Depends on water level and generation.
The streamer bite has been cranking when you get the correct generation.
I would imagine we will start seeing lighter generation as the days get milder and we do not have rain.

TROUT BLITZ!
The shad bite has been unbelievable! Sunday was epic! For about a three hour window it seemed like all three of our boats had doubles every time I looked. When the fly hit the water, a big beautiful fish absolutely HAMMERED it! It was maybe the craziest three hours of fishing I have ever seen!
Tom Rosenbauer has some great thoughts on the importance of tippet selection when trying to land some big trout.

Had a blast lighting them up with my beautiful wife on a perfect Sunday afternoon!
January + rain = streamers

IS THE POLAR VORTEX OVER?
It looks like we’re going to have really mild temps back in the area by this weekend. We are starting to get cranked for the rest of our shad and streamer fishing bonanza over the next couple of months.
Here are some cool pics over this past week on the Little Red. Hope you enjoy!
